MORSE TRANSMIT LESSON - ALT+F5
Morse Transmit Lessons are designed to teach morse code transmit
to 5 words per minute. This selection will initiate an interactive screen,
the top half of which is for the display of text to transmit, while the
lower half is for display of the symbols transmitted.
Transmit Lesson Format - Introduction.
Lessons which introduce morse symbols include an introduction to
those symbols before the lesson commences. The introduction consists of
the sounding of a morse symbol followed a period of time to copy its sound.
Located in the center of the top window is the word "TRANSMIT", this word
will turn RED and YELLOW when you may transmit the symbol. This phase of
the lesson does not contribute to the final accuracy result. At the
completion of the introduction, a transmit lesson will begin.
The introduction procedure:
1. LISTEN TO THE MORSE SYMBOL
2. WAIT FOR THE TRANSMIT SIGN TO HIGHLIGHT
3. PRACTICE TRANSMITTING THE SYMBOL
Transmit Lesson Format.
The lesson begins with the display of the first symbol to send in
the top left corner of the text display window. You may transmit this
symbol when the TRANSMIT sign highlights. An error buzz will sound for
incorrect symbols. After which the symbol will be sounded correctly, and
displayed again in WHITE text. You must wait for the TRANSMIT sign to
highlight before attempting the symbol again.
The transmit lesson procedure:
1. OBSERVE FOR THE SYMBOL TO TRANSMIT
2. WAIT FOR THE TRANSMIT SIGN TO HIGHLIGHT
3. TRANSMIT THE SYMBOL
4. IF THE ERROR SIGNAL SOUNDS
A. LISTEN FOR THE CORRECT SOUND
B. WAIT FOR THE TRANSMIT SIGN TO HIGHLIGHT
C. RE-TRANSMIT THE SYMBOL
Transmit accuracy will be displayed at the end of the lesson.
Transmit Errors.
Transmit errors are displayed in the lower window. If the error
is the correct sounding of the wrong symbol, then the symbol sent will
be displayed. If the symbol sounded is invalid then a QUESTION MARK (?)
will be displayed. Errors may also occur when components of the morse
symbol (dits and dahs) are too short or too long. When a component is too
short the LESS THAN (<) sign will be displayed, while the GREATER THAN (>)
sign is for components which are too long.
There is a minimum lesson accuracy which must be met before the
next lesson may be attempted.
